Web Design For Accommodation

Mutton Barn

A custom-coded website for a 5-star Warwickshire holiday home

Mutton Barn is a luxury self-catering holiday home in Warwickshire, set high on the Alne Hills with countryside views, ancient woodland, a wood-fired hot tub and walks straight from the garden gate.

The brief was to create a website that reflected the character of the accommodation while giving potential guests much more useful information before they book. Rather than relying on a simple brochure-style site, the new website gives Mutton Barn room to highlight its strongest selling points: luxury self-catering, eco living, dog-friendly stays, wildlife, walking holidays, family gatherings, hot tub breaks and things to do nearby.

Content built around what guests are actually looking for

A key part of the project was expanding the content around Mutton Barn’s main features and niches. The site now includes dedicated, useful pages covering areas such as dogs welcome, walks from the door, the wood-fired hot tub, eco and off-grid living, wildlife, large group stays, luxury bathrooms and the private rural location.

This gives visitors a clearer picture of what makes the property special, but it also helps the website target a wider range of organic search terms. Instead of relying only on broad phrases such as “holiday cottage in Warwickshire”, the site can attract people looking for more specific stays, such as dog-friendly accommodation, hot tub breaks, large holiday homes, countryside retreats, walking holidays and luxury self-catering near Stratford-upon-Avon.

Local area content was also an important part of the structure. The website includes useful guides to nearby places to visit, attractions, walks, pubs, towns and days out, helping guests plan their stay while creating more opportunities for the site to appear in relevant local searches.

Lightweight, custom-coded and easy to manage

The Mutton Barn website has been custom coded without a page builder, helping to avoid the heavy layouts and unnecessary code that can slow many WordPress websites down. The result is a cleaner, leaner build that is designed around the content and the user journey, rather than being forced into a pre-made template.

Although the site is bespoke, it has still been built to be straightforward to manage. New content can be added easily, including blog posts, reviews, photo updates and area information. Text and images can also be edited without needing to rebuild pages or rely on a developer for everyday updates.

This gives the owners the flexibility to keep the website fresh, add seasonal content, share news from the barn, publish guest reviews and build out more useful content over time.

A website designed to grow

Mutton Barn already had plenty to offer guests: a beautiful rural setting, luxury facilities, wildlife, walking routes, dog-friendly features and easy access to Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding Warwickshire countryside.

The new website brings those strengths together in a clearer and more search-friendly way. It gives visitors the information they need to make a confident booking, while giving the business a stronger platform for long-term organic traffic growth.

By combining a lightweight custom build with practical content management and a more useful content structure, the site is now better placed to support direct bookings, showcase the accommodation properly and grow with the business.
